My Pal Dragon is a solo acoustic endeavor from Bloomington, IN transplant Matthew Hutton. He is originally tied to the Omaha music scene, as a former member of the tweepop rockers Thunder Power, also co-founder of the lo-fi duo Thee Tapeheads, and had a project in Bloomington called Fox & Bear. Needless to say, he's been busy. He writes his own brand of sad-bastard folk and pop songs that recall early work of Sebadoh/Folk Implosion's Lou Barlow, and a glimmer of Will Oldham of Bonnie 'Prince' Billy. Hutton himself would credit these and other artists such as Belle & Sebastien to his biggest influences. Recently Matt and his dragon signed to Kill Mommy Records, who helped with the release of his debut EP 'Radicalico'.
