Cecile is Sassy

Sassy is a gothy two-piece grunge band based in Orleans, France. Reminiscent of Hole, there are no holes in sound. Cecile, the front woman, plays guitar and sings/growls like no other, while Stefano provides the rhythm with bass and a drum machine. They just released their fourth album titled Cursed Cradle, which is for sale on eBay along with their other three albums. Just over a year ago, a compilation called Babynothing's Candy Rumors was released, featuring "Be Beautiful and Die" by Sassy. You can download the compilation here for free: The Holy Hour Webzine.

sami.the.great

sami.the.great
sami.the.great aka Sami Akbari is a songwriter from Brooklyn, NY. I got a chance to see her play, with a backing band, a few weeks ago at the Side Door Lounge in Omaha. Though not typically my taste, her music blew me away. Sami has a sultry voice and seductive lyrics to go right along with it. After hearing her song "Making Eyes" just once it was stuck in my head for a week. If you happen to be in NY make sure you try and catch Sami this Wednesday, April 25th, at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn. Also she will be back through Omaha for the 2012 Nebraska Pop Festival, July 10th - 15th.
You can buy her latest record on iTunes Sami.The.Great, which features the song "Making Eyes". Also download "Dresser Drawer" for free from Bandcamp!

&heart; Losergaze

Here at Losergaze, we truly aim to bring our readers the best in underground music. Whether by review, or random video, or local listings. Sometimes it's hard to keep up with the site considering there are only two of us, and we each tend to take on many projects at once. When we started out, neither of us had any experience in journalism or blogging in general and we couldn't be more grateful for the support we've gained. We've learned a lot and come across some really great music. We've also been offered much creative criticism, which we appreciate as well. It's been the two of us from the start, and for a while we were looking for like-minded writers to help us with our vision. Nothing ever worked out. Of course, if you are interested in managing the blog with us, please drop us a line. Anyway, we'd like to remind everyone that we are still in motion, however slow-moving. This Fall, we'll be releasing our second sampler series, featuring (mostly) Midwest bands and some regional acts. If you'd like to submit to the compilation, our email is listed above. Not much is required other than your undying love and devotion (kidding). As long as your message is tasteful and absolutely shameless, we'll probably dig it and put you on the cd. One thing you can do as a supporter is seek us out online. Blogger isn't our only home - it's just where our vision is realized. You can find LGz everywhere from Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, and Youtube. We've provided the links below. You should also know that we are avid supporters of the social scene. If you need some extra likes or follows, give us the link. We are struggling musicians as well and know, all too well, how that game is played. Once again, thanks to everyone who have made this 'thing' possible, and here's to another year of shitty music and bad reviews. <3 Losergazer!
